The speed at which money changes hands in the UK is generally falling. There are rumours of interest rates becoming ‘negative’ to encourage people to spend rather than keep money in the bank. In other words there would be a fee for the privilege of keeping money inactive, in the bank.
Communities with local pounds are experiencing an increase in the speed at which money flows.
